Carmody voted ‘Australia’s Favourite Author’ in Booktopia poll

Fantasy and YA author Isobelle Carmody has been voted ‘Australia’s Favourite Author’ in Booktopia’s annual poll.

Booktopia announced the top 10 finalists on its website on 29 January. They were (from one to 10): Isobelle Carmody, Michael Robotham, Liane Moriarty, Matthew Reilly, Monica McInerney, Markus Zusak, John Marsden, Tim Winton, Andy Griffiths and Mem Fox.

Carmody is the author of the bestselling ‘Obernewtyn’ series, as well as numerous other series and standalone books for younger readers. Carmody began the ‘Obernewtyn’ series at the age of 14 and released the seventh and final book, The Red Queen, in November last year.

The ‘Australia’s Favourite Author’ promotion coincides with Booktopia’s ‘month of Australian stories’. Last year’s winner was John Flanagan.
