HarperCollins New Zealand publisher Finlay Macdonald will leave the company in early April for a role outside of publishing.
Macdonald, who previously worked as a journalist and editor, was appointed to the position in mid-2013 to ‘steer’ the local publishing program.
HarperCollins ANZ CEO James Kellow said in a statement: ‘We are extremely sad to see Finlay leave us after three very successful years … His adherence to quality and exceptional writing is well-known, part of his legacy, and something we will look to continue with his successor.’
HarperCollins said the search for a new publisher ‘will begin shortly’.
