Mulready, Haddad win 2016 ‘Seizure’ Viva La Novella competition

The winners in the 2016 Seizure Viva La Novella competition have been announced.

The Bonobo’s Dream by Rose Mulready and Populate and Perish by George Haddad were chosen from more than 100 entries. The novellas will be published in print and digital formats in August and Mulready and Haddad will each receive $1000.

Seizure also named four highly commended works: Paige and Powe by David Wright, Boatjack by Patrick Lenton, Black Mountain by Carol Chandler and When the Cloud Hit the Kellys by Belinda Moore.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Tom Langshaw will edit this year’s novellas. Langshaw  selected the winning entries, with assistance from Seizure editor-in-chief Alice Grundy.
