Ingram acquires Perseus’ distribution business

In the US, Ingram has acquired the distribution arm of Perseus Book Group for an undisclosed sum, reports Publishers Weekly. The deal, which is expected to close at the end of March, follows the sale of Perseus’ publishing division to Hachette last week. Ingram will bring Perseus’ four distribution companies—Publishers Group West, Consortium Book Sales & Distribution, Perseus Distribution and Legato—into its publisher services group, boosting the number of publishers it services to 600. Ingram CEO John Ingram said the deal ‘supports Ingram’s transformation to a more comprehensive provider of global publisher services’.
