HarperCollins France established

HarperCollins’ international expansion continues with the establishment of HarperCollins France, reports Publishers Weekly. The French office was created after the publisher bought out Hachette Livre SA’s stake in Harlequin SA. The two publishers had jointly owned Harlequin SA for 30 years. The new office will continue to publish romance titles under the Harlequin imprint, while expanding its trade publishing program with titles from HarperCollins and local authors. Distribution will remain Hachette. ‘We’re excited to announce the formation of HarperCollins France and complete the rebranding of our Harlequin offices in Europe,’ said HarperCollins president and CEO Brian Murray in a statement. The publisher now has offices with local publishing in 10 European countries.
