Australian titles featured on USBBY outstanding international books list

Two Australian titles have been selected for the 2016 United States Board of Books for Young People (USBBY) list of Outstanding International Books for children and young adults.

Irena Kobald’s My Two Blankets (illus by Freya Blackwood, Little Hare) was selected in the pre-kindergarten-to-grade two age category. Amina: Through My Eyes (A&U), by J L Powers and edited by Lyn White, was selected in the grades six-to-eight age category.

The USBBY list of Outstanding International Books for children and young adults is published each February. The list is compiled by the USBBY Outstanding International Books committee from international books published in the US during the previous calendar year. The complete list is available from the USBBY website here.
