Random House US to launch Dunham imprint

In the US, Random House is launching a new imprint based around Lena Dunham and her producing partner Jenni Konner’s feminist newsletter Lenny Letter, reports Publishers Weekly. The Lenny imprint will publish a mix of fiction and nonfiction, with the aim of building a ‘varied, compelling, and voice-driven list’. The first titles will be released in 2017. Random House VP and editor-in-chief Andy Ward said the imprint was ‘a natural extension of Random House’s relationship with Lena Dunham’ after the publisher released Dunham’s debut nonfiction collection Not That Kind of Girl in the US in 2014. Dunham told BuzzFeed that Lenny books ‘will aspire to push the ball forward on the issues that matter to our audience, with wit and style. We hope to see them sticking out of purses and riding public transportation everywhere’.
