Stella Schools to hold ‘Girls Write Up’ festival

The Stella Schools Program will hold a one-day ‘wordfest’ for teenagers in Melbourne and Sydney in June that ‘teaches empowerment through writing and sharing stories’.

Events include workshops on radical writing, the fear of exposing yourself, writing for audio and writing for comics and zines, as well as panel discussions on the radical act of writing women, graphic narratives and women in the media.

Speakers include Clem Ford, Emily Bitto, Alice Pung, Fiona Wood, Lili Wilkinson, Fiona Wright, Emily Maguire and Kirsty Eagar.

The Melbourne event will be held at Queen Vic Women’s Centre on 17 June and the Sydney event will be held at the NSW Writers Centre on 21 June. For more information, visit the Girls Write Up website here.
