Melbourne Jewish Writers’ Festival 2016 program announced

The program for the 2016 Melbourne Jewish Writers’ Festival, which will run at the Lamm Library in Caulfield South from 21-23 May, has been announced.

More than 70 guests will participate in the festival, including international writers Nir Baram (Israel) and Jami Attenberg (US), and the translator of Elena Ferrante’s bestselling ‘Neopolitan Novels’ series Ann Goldstein, who will appear by video link. Local guests include Arnold Zable, Andrea Goldsmith, Mark Dapin, Kate Forsyth, Gail Jones, Mireille Juchau, Joan London, Clare Wright, Lee Kofman, Ramona Koval and Leah Kaminsky.

Among the program’s more than 40 sessions are panels, readings, book signing and launches exploring ‘the variety and complexity of Jewish culture, life and literature and beyond’. Australia’s chief scientist Alan Finkel and his wife, author and prize winning scientist Elizabeth Finkel, will give the keynote address.

The festival also includes a children’s and schools program with authors Anna Fienberg, Hazel Edwards and others.

The inaugural  Melbourne Jewish Writers’ Festival was held in 2014 and attracted more than 500 at its opening night. For the full program, click here.
