Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts’ screenplay to be published in November
The screenplay of the forthcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, set in the world of ‘Harry Potter’ and written by J K Rowling, will be published on 19 November, the day after the film’s worldwide release date. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a new story that follows the character Newt Scamander, familiar to Harry Potter readers as the author of the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and his adventures in New York City in the 1920s. The book, which will comprise the full film script, will be published by Hachette Australia, Little, Brown in the UK and Scholastic in the US and Canada. Rowling previously wrote a companion volume to the ‘Harry Potter’ series titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in aid of charity, which is published in Australia by Bloomsbury. As previously reported by Books+Publishing, the script to Rowling’s play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, conceived as the ‘eighth story in the Harry Potter series’, will be published this year in July.
