Australian publisher named finalist at British Fantasy Awards

An anthology by Australian speculative-fiction publisher Twelfth Planet Press has been named a finalist in the British Fantasy Awards.

Letters to Tiptree, which is edited by Alexandra Pierce and Alisa Krasnostein, is one of six titles shortlisted in the best nonfiction category. The anthology is a collection of letters written by local and international science-fiction and fantasy authors, editors and fans in celebration and recognition of feminist science-fiction writer Alice B Sheldon, who wrote under the pen name James Tiptree Jr.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Letters to Tiptree was also shortlisted for the 2016 British Science Fiction Association Awards.

The British Fantasy Awards, which have run since 1976, are administered by the British Fantasy Society. The winners of the British Fantasy Awards 2016 will be announced at a ceremony in Scarborough, England on 25 September, as part of FantasyCon 2016.
