NYWF announces first author line-up for 2016 program

The National Young Writers’ Festival (NYWF) has announced its first line-up of artists for its 2016 program, which runs in Newcastle from 29 September to 2 October.

The writers announced include Omar Musa, Claire Sullivan, Jennifer Down, Eliza-Jane Henry-Jones, Ellen van Neerven, Jonno Revanche and Giselle Nguyen.  They will join 117 writers from Australia and New Zealand in four days’ of workshops, readings, debates, conversations and panels, held from 29 September to 2 October in the city of Newcastle.

This year’s festival will invite writers and attendees to ‘get lost’ in the ‘many challenges, trends and revolutions of the contemporary writing scene’. A range of open access events, including a nightly open mic session, street events and a science party, will be featured in the program, with the aim of building on the festival’s mission to be ‘inclusive’.

Presented by This is Not Art (TiNA), the NYWF presents writing ‘in its broadest sense’. The full 2016 NYWF program will be launched digitally in late August. For more information, click here.
