‘J K Rowling’s Wizarding World’ interactive series to Walker Books

Walker Books Australia has been awarded the sublicence for a program of interactive tie-in books for ‘J K Rowling’s Wizarding World’, ahead of the upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, released in October.

Walker will publish ‘several titles’ in deluxe novelty and interactive format, with Walker Books UK and sister company Candlewick Press to publish the books in the UK and US respectively under a deal signed with Insight Editions in partnership with Warner Consumer Products.

The publisher said the books will ‘explore and go behind the scenes of the richly textured film and the expanding universe of J K Rowling’s wizarding world past and present’. ‘It is an extraordinary honor for our group to be chosen by the highly respected book publisher and packager, Insight Editions, as a global partner on this exciting and beloved property,’ said Walker Group managing director Karen Lotz.

The film is scheduled for release on 17 November. As previously reported by Books+Publishing, the Fantastic Beasts screenplay will be published by Hachette following the film’s release.
