The 78-Storey Treehouse (Andy Griffiths & Terry Denton, Pan) has debuted at the top of this week’s highest new entries and overall bestsellers charts, unseating Harry Potter and the Cursed Child playscript (J K Rowling, Jack Thorne & John Tiffany, Hachette), which drops to second spot in its second week of release. The release of a new ‘Treehouse’ book, which set new first-day sales records for an Australian title, has also boosted backlist sales, with the hardback edition of The 78-Storey Treehouse sitting in fourth spot among the highest new entries, and The 13-Storey Treehouse and The 65-Storey Treehouse climbing to sixth and 10th spots respectively in the top 10. ‘Treehouse’ titles take up all of the top five spots in this week’s fastest movers chart, with The 13-Storey Treehouse in top spot. Among the non-‘Treehouse’ titles new to this week’s charts are Three Sisters (Philippa Gregory, S&S) and Never Never (James Patterson & Candice Fox, Century), which have both debuted in the top 20 and are this week’s second and third highest new entries—Books+Publishing (source: Nielsen BookScan, week ending 13 August 2016).
