Inaugural Chinese Writers Festival releases full program
Writers Victoria has released the full program for the inaugural Chinese Writers Festival, to be held in Melbourne on 28 August.
The program features a line-up of international Chinese and local Chinese-Australian writers, including Lei Tao (from Xi’an), Xu Xi (New York and Hong Kong), Yan Tong (Shaanxi), Alice Pung, Ouyang Yu, Belinda Jiang and Wang Ruobing.
The program includes a keynote address presented by Lei Tao, as well as a number of Q&As and panels.
The festival will also partner with the Marco Polo project to host two professional development workshops for emerging translators on 27 August. A partnership with Asian-Australian arts magazine Peril will see the festival host two bloggers-in-residence, who will document events through a series of articles.
As previously reported by Books+Publishing, the Chinese Writers Festival takes place as part of Yarra Libraries’ Chinese Reading Month.
