Bestsellers this week

The 78-Storey Treehouse (Andy Griffiths & Terry Denton, Pan) has maintained its position at the top of the overall bestsellers chart this week, edging out Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play script (J K Rowling, Jack Thorne & John Tiffany, Hachette) and Truly Madly Guilty (Liane Moriarty, Macmillan) in second and third respectively. US comedian Amy Schumer’s memoir The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo (HarperCollins) is this week’s highest new entry, debuting in in ninth spot overall, where it sits behind another title new to the top 10, Three Sisters, Three Queens (Philippa Gregory, S&S ) in eighth. Gregory’s new novel is also one of this week’s fastest movers, sitting fourth on that chart behind Never Never (James Patterson and Candice Fox, Century), Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Ransom Riggs, Quirk Books) and Pokemon Deluxe Essential Handbook (Scholastic) in first, second and third spots respectively—Books+Publishing (source: Nielsen BookScan, week ending 20 August 2016).
