Newnham wins ‘The Lifted Brow’ & RMIT non/fictionLab Prize 2016

Writer W J P Newnham has won The Lifted Brow’s (TLB) Prize for Experimental Nonfiction for his piece ‘Trashman Loves Maree’.

Newnham was selected from a shortlist of eight entries. A longlist of fifteen was announced in July. This year the award was judged by UK writer Helen McDonald, US writer Dodie Bellamy, and Australian authors Maria Tumarkin and Astrid Lorange.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, support from the Copyright Agency and the RMIT non/fictionLab brought the first prize this year up to $5000, up from $1000 last year.
