Bestsellers this week

Two dad-themed picture books are among the fastest movers this week, with Father’s Day propelling Why I Love My Daddy (illus by Daniel Howarth, HarperCollins) to the top of the fastest movers chart, followed by A Little Book About Me & My Dad (Jedda Robaard, Five Mile Press) in second spot. Why I Love My Daddy has also climbed into the overall bestsellers chart to ninth spot, ahead of one of last week’s fastest movers, Pokemon Deluxe Essential Handbook (Scholastic) in 10th. This week’s top three bestselling titles sees a repeat of last week’s top three, with The 78-Storey Treehouse (Andy Griffiths & Terry Denton, Pan) in first place, followed by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play script (J K Rowling, Jack Thorne & John Tiffany, Hachette) and Truly Madly Guilty (Liane Moriarty, Macmillan). Picture books are also among this week’s highest new entries, with Oh, the Places You’ll Go! (Dr Seuss, HarperCollins) and A Child of Books (Oliver Jeffers & Sam Winston) in third and fifth spot on the chart. The highest new entry this week is Southern Ruby (Belinda Alexandra, HarperCollins)—Books+Publishing (source: Nielsen BookScan, week ending 20 August 2016).
