ILF’s Great Book Swap raises $150,000

Over 20,000 students, libraries and other organisations have raised $150,000 from Great Book Swap campaigns for Indigenous Literacy Day (ILD), held this year on 7 September.

More than 500 schools held Great Book Swaps on ILD and in the lead-up to the day.

Indigenous Literacy Fund (ILF) ambassadors Justine Clarke and Josh Pyke’s charity song Words Make the World Go Around, which was performed at the Sydney Opera House on ILD, also made it to number one on the iTunes chart in the kids’ music category.

ILF has thanked participating booksellers, publishers, authors, the Australian Booksellers Association and Leading Edge Books for its support on the day. Final figures for money raised from ILD will be released in six to eight weeks.
