ABA to hold 2017 conference in Melbourne

The Australian Booksellers Association (ABA) will host its 2017 conference and trade exhibition at the InterContinental Melbourne on 18-19 June.

The trade exhibition will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 18 June, followed by the gala dinner in the evening. ABA CEO Joel Becker said there may be some additional industry events held on 20 June.

‘In 2017 we will build on the success of our recent conferences with a strong focus on active and collaborative engagement with our partners in the industry—particularly our friends in publishing,’ said Becker. ‘We are consulting industry partners to ensure that we deliver information that will assist you in the day-to-day running of your bookshops, as well as exploring industry trends that will allow you to plan for a profitable and sustainable future.’

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Leading Edge Books will hold its 2017 conference as a standalone event in late March, after four years of running the event in tandem with the ABA conference.
