Dymocks Kids’ Top 51 list announced

Dymocks has revealed its Kids’ Top 51 list for 2016, with more than 26,500 votes received from Booklovers members.

The top 10 books on the list are:

  • The ‘Harry Potter’ series (J K Rowling, Bloomsbury)
  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Eric Carle, Puffin)
  • Matilda (Roald Dahl, various imprints)
  • The BFG (Roald Dahl, various imprints)
  • Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy (Lynley Dodd, Puffin)
  • Charlotte’s Web (E B White, various imprints)
  • Possum Magic (Mem Fox, Scholastic)
  • The ‘Treehouse’ series (Andy Griffiths & Terry Denton, Pan)
  • Where is the Green Sheep? (Mem Fox, Puffin)
  • The ‘Hunger Games’ series (Suzanne Collins, Scholastic).

Fifteen Australian authors made the list, up from 13 last year. Dymocks runs the Kids’ Top 51 campaign each year, asking members of its Booklovers loyalty program to vote for their favourite books of all time.
