British Library partners with 21 major libraries for national knowledge network

In the UK, the British Library has launched a knowledge network with 21 major libraries across the UK to combine local expertise and organising power. The Living Knowledge Network, which is funded by Arts Council England and the British Library for a two-year pilot period, aims to enable knowledge exchange, develop joint offerings for library users and form partnerships on tasks such as funding applications, evidence gathering and program sharing. British Library CEO Roly Keating said the network has a ‘simple aspiration’ to ‘create value by sharing ideas and sparking connections between libraries, collections and people across the UK’.
