HarperCollins UK launches ‘publisher agnostic’ events website

In the UK, HarperCollins has launched an online events platform that is open to all publishers and events organisers, reports the Bookseller. Events featured on the BookGig site are from across the UK and give details of talks, signings, Q&A sessions, readings and workshops, including events from all major booksellers and over 500 indies, all publishers and more than 250 literary festivals, as well as libraries, museums and other venues. Each event has its own page and a link to purchase tickets, as well as links to bookshops for readers to buy books online related to the events they’re attending. HarperCollins digital business director Jo Surman said: ‘Live events are a hugely important and vibrant part of our industry, and I can’t wait to see BookGig support them in going from strength to strength.’
