Redgum to publish winners of 2016 Young Writers’ Award

Children’s book imprint Redgum will publish the winners of its 2016 Young Writers’ Award this month.

The two books are Heart of a Home, an ‘emotional short story’ by 11-year-old Perth student Isabella Crean; and Wolf Espionage, a picture book written by Canberra student Elanor Parkinson and illustrated by David Atze.

The winning books are also featured on the front cover of the Redgum Book Club Catalogue this term, and will be distributed to bookstores and libraries.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Redgum launched the award in 2015, with the publisher working with the winning authors to ensure their books are professionally finished and presented but keep ‘the essence’ of the original story. The award is open to children aged nine to 13 years. Entries for the 2017 award close on 11 December. For more information, click here.
