PRH to help employees with student loan repayments

In the US, Penguin Random House (PRH) has launched a student loan repayment assistance program, which will contribute up to US$1200 (A$1588) annually towards student loan repayments for employees who have been with the company for at least one year, reports Publishers Weekly. The program has a US$9000 (A$11,907) cap per employee. PRH CEO Markus Dohle said in a letter to employees that the program arose out of conversations with PRH staff that showed that ‘student loan debt burdens a great deal of our colleagues at Penguin Random House, and increasingly, our future talent’. Dohle said that the program reflected the publisher’s belief ‘in doing our part to tackle broader societal challenges by starting within our own communities’.
