Holland-Batt awarded Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship

Poet Sarah Holland-Batt has been awarded a Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship, worth $160,000 tax-free over two years.

Holland-Batt is the author of two poetry collections, Aria and The Hazards (both UQP). She is also the poetry editor of Island magazine and The Best Australian Poems 2016 (Black Inc.).

Holland-Batt was one of eight recipients of the fellowship, which also recognised practitioners of visual arts, playwriting, community arts, music and theatre. The selection panel comprised Andrew Myer (chair), Stephen Carleton, Fran Clark, Fraser Corfield, Helen Marcou, Sean Pardy, Rachael Swain and Emma Webb.

The Sidney Myer Creative Fellowships are awarded to individuals in the humanities for ‘outstanding talent and exceptional professional courage’ and are not tied to specific projects. For more information about the fellows, click here.
