‘KYD’ announces new staff, appoints Elson as book critic

Literary magazine Kill Your Darlings (KYD) has announced a number of staff changes for 2017, including the appointment of Gerard Elson to the role of KYD book critic.

Elson, who is also interviews editor at the journal, will write ‘at length’ each month on fiction and nonfiction new releases. He will also continue to publish his interviews with writers.

KYD has also announced the newly created role of fiction editor will be filled by Ashleigh Hanson, who will commission an increased number of fiction pieces for the magazine; and former KYD deputy online editor Samantha Forge will return to join Jane Howard and Rebecca Shaw as a contributing editor, with a primary focus on arts policy.

All appointments will commence in January. As previously reported by Books+Publishing, KYD will end its print publication in April 2017 and transition to a digital-only publishing model. For more information on the new roles, visit the KYD website here.
