‘KYD’ announces inaugural New Critic Award winner

Tasmanian arts journalist and musician Stephanie Eslake has won the inaugural Kill Your Darlings New Critic Award.

Eslake receives $4000, a mentorship with senior KYD staff and publication of up to eight works of criticism.

Eslake is the founder of CutCommon, an online magazine for young classical musicians, and has previously contributed to Limelight magazine and the Mercury. She won the 2017 City of Hobart Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year Award for her contribution to the arts.

Eslake was chosen from 100 entries from emerging writers. Entries for the 2018 award will open later this year. For more information, click here.
