Author Matthew Reilly has been voted ‘Australia’s Favourite Author’ in Booktopia’s annual poll.

Booktopia announced the top 10 finalists on its website on 27 January. They were (from one to 10): Matthew Reilly, Tim Winton, Mem Fox, Bryce Courtenay, John Marsden, Anh Do, Di Morrissey, Liane Moriarty, Andy Griffiths and Markus Zusak.

Booktopia said ‘well over’ 100,000 votes were cast, with 520 nominees narrowed down to a longlist of 75 in a series of heats on social media.

Reilly’s latest novel The Four Legendary Kingdoms (Macmillan) sold 103,000 copes in Australia in 2016, placing it in the top 10 bestsellers for the year.

Last year’s winner was Isobelle Carmody. For more information, click here.
