UK Independent Publishing Awards winners announced

The UK’s Independent Publishers Guild has announced the winners of the Independent Publishing Awards at its annual conference in Oxford, reports the Bookseller. Academic publisher Edward Elgar was named Independent Publisher of the Year and Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year, with the judges describing the publisher as a ‘resolutely forward-looking business’, citing its expansion into law publishing and creation of a new digital platform, Elgaronline. ‘It is a very well run and profitable company with excellent partnerships, great author care and consistently superb customer service,’ said the judges. Other winners included Faber & Faber, which was named Trade Publisher of the Year; and Nosy Crow, which won Children’s Publisher of the Year for the fifth time in seven years.
