writingWA to host public forum on arts policy in lead-up to state election
writingWA will host a public forum to discuss policies and funding for the writing and publishing sector in Perth on 1 March, in the lead-up to the WA state election on 11 March.
Liberal MP Michael Mischin, Labor shadow arts minister Michelle Roberts and Greens spokesperson Lynn McLaren will outline their parties’ policies for the development of WA’s literary culture and economy.
As previously reported by Books+Publishing, last year writingWA launched a campaign to raise awareness of the writing and publishing sector and the inequity of its funding compared to other art forms, following funding cuts to a number of WA writing and publishing groups.
