Tapper, Stewart join Giramondo

Giramondo Publishing has appointed two new staff to its editorial team.

Nick Tapper has been appointed commissioning editor. Tapper previously worked as editor at Mossenson Art Foundation, and at art-and-design distributor Books at Manic.

Emily Stewart has been appointed to the newly created part-time position of project editor, where she will manage the publisher’s poetry list. Stewart is a published poet and was formerly an editor at NewSouth.

Giramondo publisher Ivor Indyk told Books+Publishing: ‘These appointments represent a strengthening of Giramondo’s commitment to poetry and innovative literary projects, and a broadening of its scope to include books on and by Australian artists in addition to its focus on Australian literature.’

The appointments follow the departure of managing editor Alice Grundy in mid-2016.
