Black Inc. to publish ‘Writers on Writers’ series

Black Inc. has commissioned a series of six short books featuring Australian writers reflecting on other Australian writers who have inspired and influenced them.

The first two titles, to be published in October, are Alice Pung on children’s and YA author John Marsden, and Erik Jensen on novelist and poet Kate Jennings. The third book in the series, due out in May 2018, is Christos Tsiolkas on novelist and playwright Patrick White.

Black Inc. publisher Chris Feik said each book will have ‘its own unique flavour, voice and approach’. ‘We hope these memorable encounters between writers will open up new reading worlds and shine a fresh light on past treasures,’ said Feik.

The series is published in association with the State Library of Victoria and the University of Melbourne.
