Readings Matters 2017 program announced

The Centre for Youth Literature at the State Library of Victoria has announced the full program for its Reading Matters conference, which will run from 2-3 June at the Arts Centre in Melbourne.

The conference also includes a student day on 1 June and a public day on 4 June.

Topics at the conference will include the rise and future of YA; YA’s expanding readership and appeal to readers, writers and publishers; and best practices in teen engagement.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, US author A S King and Canadian author Mariko Tamaki are among the international guests attending the conference. Local guests include YA fiction authors Randa Abdel-Fattah, Rachael Craw, Alison Goodman and Lili Wilkinson; photographer Lance Balchin, author and illustrator of Mechanica (Five Mile); and Nevo Zisin, author of the memoir Finding Nevo (Black Dog Books).
