The ABC has announced ‘The Book Club’ will return for a new season, running from 18 April to 6 June.

The premiere episode features crime writer Michael Robotham and feminist writer Clementine Ford, who join hosts Jennifer Byrne, Marieke Hardy and Jason Steger to discuss local author Kathryn Heyman’s Storm and Grace (A&U) and US author J D Vance’s Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis (HarperCollins).

Other guests appearing in this season include Omar Musa, C S Pacat, Adam Liaw, Zoe Norton Lodge and Michael Williams, as well as a panel of international Sydney Writers’ Festival guests in the final two episodes.

The ABC has also announced a new series ‘Off the Page’, which explores ‘the art of words in all their forms’ and will look at authors, songwriters, spoken word and typography. The series consists of 20 five-minute episodes, with the first four episodes to be released on ABC iview on 13 April, and the remaining episodes released fortnightly.
