Woollahra Council announces new digital writing awards worth $6000

Woollahra Libraries in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs has announced a new national literary award for writing first published online or electronically.

Two prizes worth $3000 each will be given to the best novel, novella, short story or short story collection ‘of a literary nature’, and best monograph, collection of essays or long essay. Entries in both categories can range from 3000 to 100,000 words, and must have been published online or electronically in the first instance .

Entries will be judged on literary merit but ‘bravery in publishing in emerging media is acknowledged as part of what makes these works special’.

Entries close on 15 May. A shortlist will be announced on 10 June and the winners on 23 June. For more information, click here.
