Aurealis Awards 2016 winners announced

The winners of the 2016 Aurealis Awards for the best science-fiction, fantasy and horror writing in Australia have been announced.

The winning titles were:

Best Science Fiction Novel

Best Fantasy Novel

  • Nevernight (Jay Kristoff, Voyager)

Best Horror Novel

Best Young Adult Novel

  • Lady Helen and the Dark Days Pact (Alison Goodman, HarperCollins)

Best Graphic Novel / Illustrated Work

  • Negative Space (Ryan K Lindsay, Dark Horse Comics)

Best Collection

  • A Feast of Sorrows (Angela Slatter, Prime)

Best Anthology

  • Year’s Best YA Speculative Fiction 2015 (ed by Julia Rios & Alisa Krasnostein, Twelfth Planet Press)

The Convenors’ Award for Excellence

Best Young Adult Short Story

  • ‘Pretty Jennie Greenteeth’ (Leife Shallcross, Strange Little Girls, Belladonna Publishing).
