Affirm moves sales, distribution to Hachette

Affirm Press titles will be distributed by Alliance Distribution Services (ADS) and sold by Hachette from 3 July.

ADS and Hachette will take over the distribution and sales from United Book Distributors (UBD) and Simon & Schuster.

Affirm Press publishing director and CEO Martin Hughes said Simon & Schuster’s sales team and UBD ‘have done a stellar job and we’ve really enjoyed working with them, but we believe this arrangement with Hachette will best facilitate our ambitions for the future’.

‘With the power of Hachette’s large sales team—backed up by their wholly owned distribution arm, ADS—we will be giving our books and authors the best chance to succeed,’ said Hughes. ‘Hachette is a great fit with our future plans, and we are confident that this arrangement will grow both businesses.’

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, S&S and Affirm Press announced its sales and distribution partnership in late 2015.
