Melbourne Prize announces new award to acknowledge Melbourne’s UNESCO City of Literature status

The Melbourne Prize Trust and the Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature Office have announced a new award to acknowledge Melbourne’s City of Literature status.

The $10,000 ‘Public Artwork Design Concept Award 2017—Crafting a City of Literature’ is open for entries until 17 May. The award is part of the Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture and Awards cycle, worth $120,000. 

The Melbourne Prize operates on a three-year cycle, alternating between Urban Sculpture, Literature and Music. The awards for literature will next be presented in 2018.
