Amazon introduces weekly bestseller lists

In the US, Amazon has introduced a weekly bestseller list that will rank titles based on sales and borrow-rates across all its platforms and formats, reports Publishers Weekly.

The Amazon Charts will feature the top 20 bestsellers and the 20 most read books in fiction and nonfiction, with the most read books based on data from Kindle devices and Audible. The lists for the week ending on Sunday will be published on Wednesday.

‘People are reading differently now, and we want our lists to reflect that,’ Amazon vice president David Naggar told Publishers Weekly, adding that he ultimately sees Amazon Charts as another book discoverability tool.
