National Bookshop Day rebranded

The Australian Booksellers Association (ABA) has rebranded its annual National Bookshop Day as Love Your Bookshop Day (LYBD).

This year, on 12 August, Australian booksellers are being encouraged to throw a party for themselves, their customers and their staff. ‘Think balloons, bunting, streamers, fairy lights, cake, dressing up, discounts and prizes—the sky’s the limit just as long as it’s a party for your shop,’ says ABA marketing and communications manager Robyn Huppert.

The ABA is putting together a range of LYBD material, including bookmarks, posters, balloons and social media graphics featuring a number of well-known Australian authors sharing #whyIlovemybookshop.

ABA member booksellers will also receive copies of a special edition of ‘Five Go Bookselling’, published by Hachette, for distribution on LYBD.

More information about LYBD is available at www.loveyourbookshopday.com.au.
