Myer to stock Amazon Kindle

Myer will stock Amazon Kindle devices and accessories in its stores and online as part of a new partnership, reports Inside Retail.

‘We are thrilled to announce our program with Myer, a true icon of Australian retailing,’ said Amazon device sales director Scott Harrington. ‘As the largest department store chain down under, Myer will help make e-reading even more accessible to literature enthusiasts across the nation.’

Myer group general manager of home and entertainment Dain Friis said the retailer is ‘passionate about offering our customers only the best brands, so this collaboration is a natural fit for us’.

Myer already stocks Kobo ereading devices and accessories.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Amazon has appointed a country manager for Australia and leased its first Australian fulfilment centre in Dandenong South in Melbourne’s south-east.
