US ABA and Authors Guild to partner on emerging author events

In the US, the American Booksellers Association (ABA) and the US Authors Guild have partnered on a new initiative to produce events in independent bookstores around the country, reports Publishers Weekly.

As part of the initiative, emerging authors will be paired with established authors to hold an event in an independent bookstore in their local area. The event will involve a conversation between the two authors and a book signing. The participating emerging authors have been chosen by independent booksellers for the ABA’s ‘Indies Introduce’ list.

Three events and the participating authors have been announced: YA authors Angie Thomas and Nic Stone; Esme Weijun Wang and Margaret Wilkerson Sexton; and Rachel Vail and Karina Yan Glaser.
