First authors announced for 2018 Adelaide Writers’ Week

A number of authors have been announced for the 2018 Adelaide Writers’ Week, which runs from 3-8 March.

Among the big-name international authors attending the festival are US novelist Barbara Kingsolver; UK novelists Alan Hollinghurst, Alexander McCall Smith, Sarah Winman and Kamila Shamsie; UK philosopher and author A C Grayling; and Canadian crime writer Louise Penny.

Other international guests include US writer, art historian and photographer Teju Cole; US/Canadian author and founder of the Love Story Project Mandy Len Catron; US essayist and poet Jenny Zhang; US journalist and science writer Jim Robbins; Norwegian screenwriter, novelist and children’s author Maja Lunde; and Indian graphic designers and co-authors Dhwani Shah and Ragini Siruguri.

Among the local authors are Michelle de Kretser, Sophie Laguna, Mem Fox, Kim Scott, Maggie Beer, Richard Fidler and Kari Gislason.

The festival is once again directed by Laura Kroetsch and this year explores the theme of ‘change’.
