Stella Prize launches Read Up resource
The Stella Prize has launched a series of reading lists for young people aged 15-24 ‘to help guide their thinking about sexuality, relationships, gender, minds and bodies, and diverse cultures’.
The Read Up resource, which was created in collaboration with the Victorian Government, comprises five reading lists: Diverse Cultures, LGBTQI+, Respectful Relationships, Minds & Bodies, and Feminism.
Each list contains a range of titles and ‘thinking points’ that encourage reflection on issues of representation and equality. The titles cover a range of genres and reading abilities, and prioritise books by Australian women, particularly those writing from marginalised groups or intersections.
The Read Up resource can be found online here. Printed copies are also available for schools, bookstores, libraries and other organisations that work with young people.
