Government reveals $5.4m cut to OzCo in MYEFO

The federal government revealed a $5.4m funding cut to the Australia Council in its 2017-18 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) on 18 December 2017.

The $1.8m per year over the next three years has been reallocated to Creative Partnerships Australia, a government agency that ‘fosters partnerships between the cultural sector, supporters and investors’.

Another $1.9 million per year allocated to the Department of Communications and the Arts for other programs has also been directed to Creative Partnerships.

In a statement, arts minister Mitch Fifield said new ongoing funding for Creative Partnerships will maintain the agency’s current resourcing level of $4.4m a year. The majority of Creative Partnerships Australia’s funding was previously due to cease on 30 June 2018.
