APA to license IPG Skills Hub

The Australian Publishers Association (APA) and the UK Independent Publishers Guild (IPG) have agreed on a deal to give APA members access to content from the IPG’s Skills Hub.

The IPG Skills Hub contains training resources for publishers, including full-length courses on topics such as publicity and financial management, tips for effective publishing, masterclasses from successful companies, directories, glossaries and other resources.

All staff members of publishers with APA membership will receive free access to the portal.

APA chief executive Michael Gordon-Smith said the partnership is ‘really good news for our members’. ‘The APA strives to make doing business easier for Australian publishers, and we hope all our members will take advantage of this free access to the Skills Hub to improve the skills and knowledge of their teams,’ said Gordon-Smith.

He added: ‘We’ll be working with the IPG in the future to look at what gets used and at the possibility of contributing more material from Australia too.’
