Australian Book Design Awards 2018 longlist announced

The 2018 Australian Book Design Awards longlist has been announced.

Longlists were announced in 16 categories, including Best Designed Series (including Classics), Best Designed Fully-Illustrated Book Under $50, Best Designed Cookbook, and Best Designed Independent Book for titles with a print run of fewer than 1000 copies.

The judging panel comprises Coralie Bickford-Smith, Alex Ross, Kasia Gadecki, Andrea McNamara, Warren Taylor, Suzy Tuxen, and Andy Warren.

The Australian Book Design Awards ‘celebrate the bravest and brightest, the most original and beautiful books published in Australia each year’, and is administered by the Australian Book Designers Association (ABDA)

The shortlist will be announced on 9 April and the winners will be announced at the Awards Party on 25 May at The Craft & Co in Melbourne.

The awards evening will also include the announcement of the designers’ choice awards that ABDA members vote for on the night.
