WestWords director named on CreateNSW roundtable

WestWords executive director Michael Campbell has been named among a group of 10 arts practitioners to lead a new roundtable created to ensure that Western Sydney is reflected in future arts policies.

The 2018 Western Sydney Arts, Screen and Culture Roundtable has been created following an expression of interest process launched in February this year. Members will serve on the roundtable until the end of the 2018 calendar year and will convene with Create NSW three times between June and December 2018.

Campbell joins representatives from the screen, theatre and music sectors, as well as a representative from Blacktown City Council and a Macquarie University lecturer for the Fellowship for Indigenous Research.

‘One of the first things the roundtable will discuss will be the outcomes of our recent Arts 2025 Summit as we seek to identify strategic opportunities for Western Sydney artists, arts organisations, audiences and businesses for the policy framework,’ said Tarek Barakat, acting executive director of Create NSW.
