Lambda Literary Awards 2018 winners announced
The winners of the 2018 Lambda Literary Awards, known as the ‘Lammys’, have been announced.
The awards celebrate excellence in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) writing published in the previous year, with winners announced across 23 categories, including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender general fiction; debut fiction; nonfiction; poetry; memoir/biography; mystery; romance; erotica; anthology; drama; graphic novels; and children’s/YA.
The Trustee Award for Excellence in Literature was presented to author, professor and commentator Roxane Gay, who also won the Bisexual Nonfiction award for her memoir Hunger (Corsair).
The Visionary Award went to novelist, memoirist, and essayist Edmund White, whose most recent book is Our Young Man (Bloomsbury) which follows a young man’s ascension into the fashion world.
